WDW Entertainment, a London-based communications agency specializing in arts and entertainment, has undergone a rebranding and is now known as WDM Entertainment.
The company has also announced a new leadership team, with industry veteran Daniel Maynard joining as the managing director.
Additionally, the agency has elevated Frankie Mendola and Sarah Wareing to the position of associate directors.
The new name of the company reflects the surnames of the reorganized leadership team and shareholders.
Maynard brings over 20 years of experience in media and entertainment, having held senior roles at companies such as Walt Disney, 21st Century Fox, National Geographic, Freuds, BBC, and Microsoft.
He is a member of the BAFTA television committee.
WDM Entertainment offers a comprehensive range of publicity services across various entertainment sectors, including TV and streaming, film and awards, arts and impact, and corporate communications.
In addition, WDM Entertainment has formed a strategic partnership with Unitworks, a unit publicity agency founded by Alyssa Taffet.
The partnership enables WDM to provide full end-to-end support to clients. Recently, Unitworks has been involved in projects such as “Ted Lasso,” “Bad Sisters,” and “The Full Monty.”
Among the new clients that WDM Entertainment has acquired are Warner Bros.
Discovery, Dorothy Street Pictures, Hot Coals Productions, the Skills Task Force led by former Amazon Studios Europe executive Georgia Brown, and inclusivity and accessibility agency Bridge06.
They join an impressive list of existing clients, including Disney, Netflix, National Geographic, Lionsgate, BAFTA, SISTER, See-Saw Films, EE, Newport Beach Film Festival UK Honours, The Society of London Theatre, and The Old Vic.
In a bid to promote inclusivity and diversity in the industry, WDM Entertainment has committed to allocating 10% of its net profits towards initiatives that support new talent from underrepresented groups.
WDM Entertainment is a female and queer-led company, and this reorganization places inclusivity at the forefront of its operations.
According to CEO Amy Dowd, the company’s focus remains on delivering world-class communications, publicity, and awards campaigns.
However, the company is also redirecting some of its profits towards promoting marginalized talent in the industry.
