In a dynamic move to reshape Zimbabwe’s clothing retail landscape, Edgars Stores Limited has unveiled new Express Stores in Rusape and Harare.
This marks a bold step in the company’s strategy to reach low-income consumers while offering an affordable alternative to the country’s thriving second-hand clothing market.
The latest stores, located at Metro Seke Road and Metro Tynwald Corner in Harare, are strategically positioned in high-traffic zones.
These outlets offer a wide array of fresh, fashionable clothing items priced between just US$1 and US$10, giving customers an accessible option for stylish, brand-new apparel.
“We are bringing fashion closer to the people by setting up Express Stores in key urban areas,” said Sevious Mushosho, CEO of Edgars Stores.
“Our goal is to meet the needs of everyday Zimbabweans with convenient, affordable choices,”he added.
This expansion is part of Edgars’ broader vision to establish 20 new Express Stores nationwide by the end of 2024.
With a planned investment of around US$200,000, the retailer is targeting the low-income market, aiming to uplift communities through both fashion and economic opportunity.
The Rusape branch is expected to serve growing demand in the country’s eastern region, while the Seke Road and Tynwald Corner stores are set to become shopping hubs for residents in Harare’s busy suburbs.
More than just retail outlets, these stores are helping to create local jobs and stimulate economic activity.
“We believe in investing in communities and building long-term relationships with our customers,” Mushosho added.
Edgars’ aggressive rollout reflects its confidence in Zimbabwe’s market potential. As competition intensifies and consumer preferences shift, the company is prioritizing customer experience and innovation to retain its leading position in the sector.
