Linda Yaccarino has just been named by Elon Musk as the new Twitter CEO.
The former NBC Universal Executive who has vast experience in advertising and sales was handpicked by Elon Musk, who bought the social media platform in 2022 for $44 billion.
Yaccarino’s appointment is seen as a move to help Twitter revamp its advertising strategy and increase revenue, both of which have been two of Twitter’s main weaknesses.
While she is a force to reckon with, it seems as if most ordinary folk are hearing her name for the first time and are asking this question.
“Who is Linda Yaccarino?”
Linda Yaccarino is a media executive who has worked in the television industry for over two decades, and is well known for her expertise in advertising and sales.
She most recently served as the Chairman of Advertising and Partnerships at NBCUniversal, overseeing advertising sales and client partnerships across all of NBCUniversal’s businesses, including NBC, MSNBC, CNBC, and Telemundo.
During her 12-year tenure at NBCUniversal, Yaccarino was credited with modernizing the company’s advertising sales operation and bringing it into the digital age, helping to increase advertising revenue and secure major sponsorship deals.

Prior to joining NBCUniversal, Yaccarino spent 15 years at Turner Entertainment, where she served in various senior leadership roles, including Executive Vice President of Ad Sales for Turner Broadcasting System.
During her time at Turner, Yaccarino was responsible for negotiating major advertising deals, including the first-ever billion-dollar upfront deal in the cable industry.
