Zimbabwean breakfast tables are about to get even brighter! Nestlé Zimbabwe is not just reaffirming its commitment to local families; it’s turbocharging it.
Following a landmark US$7 million investment into local manufacturing, the company is dramatically scaling up production of its beloved breakfast cereal, CEREVITA, cementing Zimbabwe’s position as a regional cereal powerhouse.
CEREVITA isn’t just a cereal; it’s a taste of home. Its signature toasted flavor and aroma, born from gently toasting whole grains, evoke comfort and tradition across Zimbabwean households.
As Khaled Ramadan, Managing Director for Nestlé’s East Africa and Greater Zambezi operations, proudly stated, “Made using whole grains that retain the bran, germ, and endosperm, it is naturally rich in fibre, essential fats, antioxidants, magnesium, and carbohydrates, making it ideal for nourishing the whole family.”
But the nutrition story goes deeper. CEREVITA is supercharged with GRAINSMART™, a smart blend of iron, vitamins, and minerals designed to release energy throughout the day.
This isn’t just a convenient choice; it’s a smart one, contributing to the vitality of both children and adults. With five delicious variants – corn and wheat, corn and banana, corn, cocoa and malt, flakes with milk, and corn and sorghum – available in two popular pack sizes, there’s a CEREVITA to kick start every day, for every family.
The impact of Nestlé’s substantial investment is already rippling through the economy. With the cutting-edge Roller Drier 4 now fully operational, production capacity has soared by an impressive over 35%.
This means more CEREVITA on shelves, ensuring every Zimbabwean family can enjoy their favorite breakfast while Nestlé maintains its unwavering commitment to the highest standards of safety, quality, and consistency.
This isn’t just about factory output; it’s about building a stronger Zimbabwe.
Nicole Roos, Managing Director and Chairperson of Nestlé East and Southern Africa Region, eloquently summarizes the broader vision: “This investment is not just about production infrastructure — it’s about long-term nourishment, empowerment and pride in a product that reflects our local taste, our local grain, and our local spirit.”
Through its innovative Virtuous Circle model, Nestlé is deeply interwoven with the local economy.
The company proudly partners with over 350 Zimbabwean suppliers and 18 local farmers, ensuring local sourcing and inclusion.
This commitment extends to job creation, supporting 149 full-time employees, 268 casual workers, and nurturing future talent by training eight graduate trainees annually.
This holistic approach also champions Zimbabwe’s Vision 2030, with a firm focus on sustainable manufacturing practices like energy efficiency, water savings, and waste reduction – benefiting both communities and the environment.
