ConvertKit announces Rebrand to Kit and plans to launch new products

Posted on

ConvertKit, the popular email marketing platform designed for creators, is undergoing a significant transformation. CEO and founder Nathan Barry recently announced on Twitter that the company is rebranding to “Kit” as part of its broader mission to better serve the creator economy. Barry’s tweet highlighted the company’s new product philosophy centered around scalability and actionable insights to help businesses grow.

Kit Founder and CEO, Nathan Barry

A Tailored Experience for Every Creator

Barry emphasized that each creator’s business is unique, and Kit’s features can be customized to meet individual needs. The rebranding isn’t just about a new name; it’s about enhancing the tools and features that creators love while introducing even more powerful functionalities. Kit is set to become an operating system for the creator economy.

Key Innovations

The Kit App Store

One of the most exciting developments is the introduction of the Kit App Store. This platform will allow developers to create and expand on Kit’s capabilities, offering creators an ecosystem where they can find apps tailored to their specific needs. Barry announced four initial apps that will be available:

  • KitBoard: A CRM that visualizes sales pipelines, helping users efficiently follow up with prospects and track customer conversions.
  • Wordsmith: An app that automatically converts YouTube videos into email newsletters, keeping subscribers informed about new content.
  • SavvyCal: A 1:1 booking widget that integrates seamlessly into emails, syncing information back into the subscriber profile.
  • Mighty: An app that pulls content from community platforms directly into emails, fostering greater engagement.

These apps are designed to save time, streamline workflows, and boost customer conversions. Additionally, Kit’s new API v4 will enable developers to build, test, and launch their own apps, further enhancing the platform’s versatility.

Enhanced Data and Collaboration

Kit will also feature a central hub for enhanced data reporting, providing creators with deeper insights into their business performance. Moreover, the platform aims to build the largest and best Creator Network, facilitating new collaboration opportunities among creators.

Engaging with Subscribers

Kit is introducing new ways to engage with subscribers, including the ability to create polls directly from the email editor. This feature will help creators understand why subscribers joined, gauge content resonance, and identify the next products to develop.

A Transparent Rebranding Process

True to its values of teaching, generosity, and transparency, Kit is rebranding in public. The company is releasing a documentary series called “Rebranding in Public,” which will take viewers behind the scenes of the rebranding process. The official transition to Kit is scheduled for September.
